About Us
Membership in AMSA currently consists of 20 companies and groups who represent mine and quarry operators, mining contractors and educational facilities. More information on these member companies can be obtained by clicking on the links attached to this website.
Member companies are represented by a board of directors who meet quarterly and share leading edge information on health, safety and lessons learned since the last meeting. Also, AMSA sponsors a sub-committee dedicated to mine rescue. Part of their mandate is the annual Surface Mine Rescue competition, where rescue teams from member companies come together to compete in a friendly forum. This is also an opportunity to share information about rescue skills along with the latest equipment and techniques.
There is a Supervisors Education Program sponsored by AMSA, aimed at making sure all mine line supervisors/managers are fully aware of their legal responsibilities with respect to the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Codes. In a few months that program will be online on this Website.
There are areas on this site that are restricted to "members" only. All people on the board of directors and the Emergency Response sub-committee are considered members and will be able to login based on user names and passwords. They have the excusive rights to determine who in their own organizations should be given user access.
Each member organization will have it's own Web page on the this Website and access will be restricted to employees of those organizations who have been authorized by their appointed member of the board of directors.
There is an area of the site that is devoted to the online Supervisor Education Program. While it is not developed yet, access will be granted to the various member organization training administrators as well as participants in he program.
If you are an employee of one of the member organizations and want access to the secure areas, contact your appointed member. If you are not an employee of a member organization but believe that you have a case to justify having access to members areas, please contact us.
