Software Choice

There is a variety of software available for online courses and exams. Prices range from high five figures to free. Many of the reasonably priced options lack versatility and features. Moodle appeared to have all the features we need to bring the Supervisors' course online. As it turns out, Moodle is a free Web-based and Open-Source application. We have financially contributed to its development.

Some Challenges

Their are a few challenges that will have to be overcome with the adoption of any online software:

• The current databases are on stand alone computers at various sites. Those questions have been migrated over and modified to be accepted by Moodle.
• Records of those who have previously successfully completed the course need to be retained.
